The Cafeteria at Flatonia ISD Will See Many Positive Changes For The Upcoming 2016-17 School Year

The goal of the cafeteria and the cafeteria staff is to provide the students at Flatonia with a filling and healthy meal each day.

The cafeteria serves lunch at the school, but also provides free breakfast for FISD’s students.

As a part of the Summer Feeding program, the cafeteria will feed anyone from the area that is under 18 for free; both breakfast and lunch are included in the program.

The terrific staff that keeps the cafeteria running smoothly consists of: Patricia Velasquez, Brenda O'Reilly, Juliana Jaramillo, Erica Carrillo and Joana Estrada.

Under the leadership of Mrs. Adela Netro, these ladies do all they can to make sure FISD’s students are fed well and receive nutritional meals during the school day.

The cafeteria will have a new menu for the coming school year, and the staff is hoping to appeal to more students by having food choices that the students voted on in a recent school survey.

The FHS Research and Design class learned about the USDA guidelines the cafeteria has to follow and sifted through the approved recipes to offer some tasty possibilities for next year as part of the survey.

The cafeteria hopes to be an enticing option for FISD’s students with its new look.
